Modiva Launcher ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website dashboard located at https://modiva-launcher.xyz/ (the "Site") and our desktop launcher software (the "Launcher").

By accessing or using our Services, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect via the Launcher (Players)

When you use the Modiva Launcher software to play Minecraft, we collect specific data to ensure stability, security, and to improve our services.

A. System & Hardware Data

We collect data regarding your computer's hardware (e.g., CPU, RAM, GPU) and Operating System. How this data is handled depends on your settings:

  • Optional Anonymous Tracking (Enabled): If you enable this setting, we collect full hardware telemetry and usage data (such as session duration and which features of the Launcher you use most) to analyze trends and improve software performance.

  • Optional Anonymous Tracking (Disabled): If you disable this, your hardware identifiers are encrypted and hashed locally on your machine. We do not receive the raw data. Instead, a locally generated unique code is transmitted to Server Owners via Discord logs for identification purposes (e.g., to assist server moderation).

B. Network Information

We collect your Public IP Address when you use the Launcher. This is strictly used for security purposes, such as applying rate limits to prevent abuse (DDoS attacks or spam).

C. Minecraft Account Data

We do not store your Minecraft/Microsoft passwords or credentials on our servers.

  • All authentication data (Session Tokens/UUIDs) is stored locally on your computer.

  • The Launcher communicates directly with official Microsoft/Mojang authentication servers.

D. Server Interaction Stats

To provide analytics to Server Owners, we track your interactions within the Launcher, including:

  • Servers you add to your Favorites.

  • Servers you visit or view in the list.

  • Playtime duration on specific servers.

2. Information We Collect via the Website (Server Owners)

If you use our website dashboard to list and manage a server, we collect the following:

A. Account Information

We do not require you to create a unique account for Modiva Launcher. You sign in using third-party providers (Discord or Google). From these providers, we collect and store:

  • Your Email Address.

  • Your Username.

  • Your Profile Avatar.

B. Payment Information

If you purchase Premium services, we do not collect or store your financial information (such as credit card numbers). All transactions are processed by our third-party payment processor, PayPal. You should review PayPal's Privacy Policy to understand how they handle your payments.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  1. Service Delivery: To operate the Launcher and allow you to access Minecraft servers.

  2. Security: To detect and prevent fraudulent activity, spam, and abuse via IP rate limiting.

  3. Improvements: To analyze user behavior (e.g., heatmaps of features used, session times) to fix bugs and enhance the Launcher experience.

  4. Server Analytics: To display aggregated statistics to Server Owners regarding how many users view, favorite, or play on their servers.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on our Website:

  • Essential Cookies: Used to keep you logged into your dashboard session.

  • Analytics (Cloudflare): We use Cloudflare to analyze web traffic and protect the site from threats. Cloudflare may place cookies on your browser to differentiate between human users and bots.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • With Server Owners: Server owners have access to statistics regarding player activity on their specific server (e.g., "50 users favorited this server"). They also receive the locally generated hardware hash code mentioned in Section 1.A for moderation logs.

  • Service Providers: We share data with trusted third parties who assist us in operating our Service (e.g., PayPal for payments, Cloudflare for security).

6. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
